Today's Writing Exercise on Smell
The leasing office smelled typical: heated paper, fresh from the printer blended with the aroma of coffee beans. Contractors had been in and out, reeking of days-old paint and drying cement. One contractor, in particular, had a distinctive scent… one that made me think he dealt more with plumbing than paint. It smelled like he had to be working on backed up toilets all day, if not the actual cause...
