Day 14: A song that reminds you of your boyfriend/girlfriend.
About this. I don’t have either. I call one of my closest friends “the most demanding girlfriend I’ve never had”, so she came to mind… as did one of our songs. I was trying to post Rather Be With You by Wale, J. Cole, and Curren$y. However, finding an mp3 code for that proved to be difficult. Excuse the misogyny in the song (if you’re familiar), but I LOVE double entendres, and it speaks to too many of our insiders.
Regardless of that, I opted for our other track… which ironically enough, reminds me of the guy I’m dating. I could post this song a thousand times over and you still may not get my connection to it. This song was the reason I went to church one day. Legitimately.
The Roots ft. Erykah Badu, You Got Me
Me: (in a room with 5 guys, chillin’)
TV: (Vagisil commercial) Some washes don’t eliminate all feminine odors.
One of the Boys: Ahhhh shit.
Everyone: (burst out in laughter)
Day 12, Song 12: The last song you heard.
Yes! God is always moving. I just wanted a reason to post this during the song challenge. This song has been doing everything for me lately. And yes, it was that serious. I definitely referenced God :)
Etta James, Sunday Kind of Love
He high-fived an angel
Cussed for the first time
Said “This shit right here!”
You were that beautiful
I’ve spent the last 6 months of my life trying to figure out how
I’m goin to introduce myself to you
I finally made a decision
It’s going to be something like “…….hi….”
That’s all I got so far
But I think it’s a good start” —Rudy Francisco
I just don’t understand why there’s a Cars 2 but I can’t get a Finding Nemo 2. Now I like the Cars franchise, I actually love it. And, I know there was a certain finality to Finding Nemo since, well… He was found. But dangit I think there’s another adventure somewhere in that little fish’s life. Give me my Nemo.
Man, I love my friends.
